Parenting Capacity Evaluation

We provide comprehensive Parenting Capacity Evaluations designed to assess a parent or caregiver's ability to provide for the safety, well-being, and developmental needs of their child(ren). These evaluations offer an objective, strengths-based assessment that can assist courts, attorneys, social service agencies, and families in understanding parenting strengths, challenges, and areas for support.

The evaluation process typically includes 2–3 clinical interviews, standardized assessments, record review, and parent-child observations, when applicable. The clinician evaluates factors such as parenting skills, parent-child attachment, trauma history, understanding of child development, decision-making abilities, and the overall capacity to provide a safe and nurturing environment.

As part of the assessment, the clinician explores the parent's mental health functioning, emotional stability, and any history of substance use that may impact parenting. The evaluation also identifies protective factors, personal strengths, and available support systems that contribute to effective caregiving.

Upon completion of the evaluation, a comprehensive written report is provided that includes clinical findings, conclusions, and individualized recommendations. Recommendations may include services, interventions, treatment, education, or other supports aimed at strengthening parenting skills, promoting family stability, and enhancing the overall well-being of the child and family.

Emotional Support Animals Assessment

We offer compassionate and confidential Emotional Support Animal (ESA) evaluations designed to assess your individual needs and determine whether an ESA may be an appropriate part of your care. During the assessment, a licensed professional will review your mental and emotional health history, discuss your current challenges, and evaluate how an ESA could provide support. If you qualify, you will receive a formal ESA letter outlining the results of your evaluation, which can be used for housing and other applicable accommodations. Our process is straightforward, respectful, and focused on your well-being every step of the way.
